Mechanical Music Museums in Pennsylvania
By Joe Berman

Mike Roseboom noted two mechanical museums in his post, the DeBence in
Franklin, Pa., and American Treasure Tour in the Valley Forge area.
This last museum is also the home of most of the Musical Box Society
International's collection. Other instruments from MBSI are currently
on loan at the Museum of Making Music (California), the Lake County
Historical Society (Ohio), the Packard Museum (Ohio), and the Lockwood
Mathews Mansion Museum (Connecticut).

The Musical Instrument Museum, Phoenix, Ariz., is barely one year old
and is already a stunning tribute to all musical instruments, deserving
a visit by anyone in the area. Its website is http://www.theMIM.org
In planning is an expanded mechanical music gallery which will hopefully
house some MBSI instruments.
