Paillard Interchangeable Music Box Cylinders
By David Evans

Does anyone have any information about Paillard's interchangeable
musical boxes for which cylinders could be purchased from stock?
These occurred toward the end of the 19th century, it seems probably
after about 1880.

At least two styles were produced. Style 602 was the kind with
cylinders with long slots across their width. Rod Cornelius posted
about these on MMD in 2005.

I have a Paillard list for 6-air cylinders available 'from stock'
for Style 801, but no information about the type or size of these
cylinders. Were there other styles, sizes etc, and does anyone have
any information or illustrations (from Paillard catalogues, perhaps?)
of the machines they fit?

I have just acquired a Paillard machine with interchangeable cylinders
of the kind that could be bought from stock, judging by the odd numbers
on them, and would like to find out if possible which style they are.

Thanks!
