Player Piano Won't Hold Tuning
By Marc Goodman

Good Morning -- I wish to thank the MMDers who gave good advice about
my Mason AA tuning problem. The section in question is not the "tenor"
but rather "mid-treble", actually notes 50-67. As the majority of
tuners have said to me, the problem is not with the pins that are
tight, but with the fluctuation of the sound board with humidity
changes (hard to control).

I do agree with using a humidifier in winter but I would never install
a Dampp-Chaser. They can ruin a sounding board unless very carefully
monitored. I, and many tuners I know, see the chaser as a $$-making
gimmick!

Best,
Marc Goodman
