I am considering buying either a Regina or Mira musical box for a gift
for my wife.  I am certainly not an expert at all in these instruments
as I only know Victrolas <lol>.  There are two units available: one
Regina and one Mira.  The cases of both need work.

The Mira has damage on the top.  Other than scratches, two or three
tines are broken and something is wrong with the motor.  It slips,
which is probably a gear or spring problem, based on my knowledge of
working on Victolas.

The Regina works fine, and I am leaning towards buying that one.

Is $1500 reasonable to pay, considering they are not in perfect
condition?  And which one would collectors consider more desirable?
I am not adverse to repairing the Mira motor, if that one is much
more collectible.
