Unknown Rags & Ragtime Songs on Early "G" Rolls
By Robbie Rhodes

John Mottoros is preparing to re-issue two very early Seeburg
style "G" 10-tune music rolls which have no labels. The tunes
on G-73 and G-100 are mostly rags and ragtime songs of 1912 and
1913. Tom Brier and I have identified a few of the tunes:

G73-03 is "Frankie and Johnnie", arranged by the Leighton Bros.,
  (C) 1912 by Tell Taylor, New York
G73-05 is "Red Onion Rag", by Abe Olman, 1912
G73-06 is "Rag, Baby Mine", by George Botsford, 1913
G73-10 is "Down Home Rag", by Wilbur Sweatman, 1911 & 1913
G100-01 is "Flower Garden Ball" by Jean Schwartz, 1913

If you recognize a tune please send an email to
MMDigest <rolls-1101@mmdigest.com.geentroep> and to
John Mottoros <mottoros@sbcglobal.net.geentroep>
[delete ".geentroep" to reply]

I will place MIDI files (piano part only) of the tunes at
the MMD Sounds site, http://www.mmdigest.com/Gallery/Sounds

Thank you,
Robbie Rhodes
