I would appreciate some troubleshooting help for a late 1980s vintage
Baldwin console player.  I do not find a model number, only a serial
number (if that is helpful) and a couple of hand-written numbers on the
electronic processor card and its edge connector.

There is an electric box pump as well as foot pedals, however, the
pedals only power the stack pneumatics.  Roll movement, forward or
reverse, is accomplished solely by the stepper style transmission
motor.  Tempo is controlled by a linear sliding resistor.

The symptom is that as soon as the take-up spool turns far enough
to lift the follower arm that drops into a groove on the spool, the
transmission shifts into rewind.  All electronic components appear
okay, i.e., the fuse is good, no apparent burning or overheating, but
I have no way of testing its functionality.

Does anyone have a trouble-shooting guide for these or know anyone who
can test the board and (if needed) repair it?  Thanks.

 [ If a pneumatic system had the same symptom, I'd look for a problem
 [ with the "Rewind" signal, e.g., a disconnected hose.  In the Baldwin
 [ electric system this might also be caused by a failed microswitch
 [ or logic input (or a bad connection, of course).  A service manual
