I found Larry Doe's posting to yesterday's MMD very interesting as a
glimpse into some of the technicalities and processes by which one
company produced its piano rolls.  I would welcome more information on
the subject.

One surprising thing was Larry's mention of Aeolian's use of mylar in 
the process.  I thought that mylar was a modern product.  Googling the
term produced the fact that mylar was a plastic developed in the mid-
1950's.  What part did mylar play in Aeolian's production process?
