Hi All.  First I would like to say thank you to those who responded
to my inquiry for a PianoDisc driver board, as the original posting
in MMD unearthed several sources.

I am faced with a restringing job, and I have a question of the paint.
This is an early player -- the paint is not gold, rather it's a dull
bluish-green that is commonly seen in most pre-1910 uprights.

Has anyone repainted a plate this early color?   What did you use,
enamel or lacquer?  I have learned the hard way that paint on a plate
must be chosen carefully, as some lacquers and primers sometimes will
have a chemical reaction with the "Japan-ing" filler underneath,
causing it to crack or craze.

Having the paint scanned and custom mixed is one option.  I would like
to hear from individuals who have replaced the paint on these early
plates.
