History of the Player and Reproducing Piano
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, Some of you might be interested in listening to a radio
broadcast that was produced in England back in 2007. In a nutshell,
it's about the history of the player and reproducing piano with
commentary by such people as Rex Lawson, Bob Berkman, Dennis Hall,
and others.

It also goes into the music, the recoding processes, and various
pianists who were recording for the various roll companies. I found
it quite educational and very entertaining.

A recording of the broadcast was sent to me by a woman in the UK who
was seeking information about getting her instrument repaired. What's
kind of funny about the whole situation is that I thought she lived in
the US and she thought I lived in the UK, and we exchanged a number of
emails before realizing we lived in different countries.

You can access the recordings, which begin as soon as the web page
opens, at

Enjoy.

Musically,
