Yes, the auction house must have a Cheshire-cat grin all the way
to the bank.  Even if they charged 'only' 10% commission (from the
seller), that would be close to $4 million + 25% from the buyers
= almost another $10 million.  Oh, and $250 entry fee from everyone
(+ $125 just for the catalog sales) = over $14 million -- not a bad
weekend's work!

While it's great to see the musical items (disc and cylinder boxes)
bring good money for a change, such absurd numbers probably will not
be seen again.  A Paillard interchangeable for over $60k; 20" Regina
changer for $60K; a 15" art glass changer for over $60k; an 18"
Miraphone for over $35k!

I'm not sure if the people who bought them cared what they paid for
them; obviously they are clueless and didn't care how they spent their
money <sigh>.

Atmosphere obviously does a lot to change one's perspective and common
sense!
