Hi All,  In the AMICA Technicalities No 5, Bill Koenigsberg explains
the involved investigative process he went through before deciding
that there was no way to chemically clean ball bleeds that was 100%
effective.  Using a 40X binocular microscope, he discovered that
'almost all of the ball bleed units were marked with corrosion pits',
and that no matter how clean he was able to get the balls, the surface
was 'roughened' by chemical etching.

One of Bill's closing statements is that people should write to Bob
Streicher and get some of his non-stick ball bleeds.  The article was
written in 1984.

Also, there's the natural problem of wear that cannot be undone by any
manner of cleaning.  As the ball 'crashes' to its seat over many years
of operation, the seat begins to 'cup', causing the ball to stick
occasionally.  Just some thoughts...
