Capitol Blues "A" Rolls
By Bob Billings

Richard Riley asked if anyone has a list of all the Capitol Blues
A-Rolls. Matt Jaro (mjaro@verizon.net.geentroep) has put together
a Microsoft Access database of style "A" and "G" rolls, which he is
willing to share. It lists 450+ Capitol A-rolls and another 50+
Capitol G-rolls. Tune titles are listed where they are known. While
Matt has not created a Blues category, it should be easy to make one
from the roll and tune titles.

I have provided John Motto-Ros (mottoros@sbcglobal.net.geentroep) with
MIDI listening files for many of the "A" and "G" rolls I have recut for
him. Included are some Capitol rolls, mostly Blues. He is willing to
share these files as well. Some very good music is here!

Clark did some very nice Blues rolls in the late 1920s. I suspect they
included performances by artists from the Capitol stable.
