Baldwin Manualo Keyslip Controls
By David Dewey

I want to thank everyone for the postings and private messages. I now
know that the two buttons are for Tempo pause and speed-up. The piano
is again working properly, and they now have a Tempo control lever and
the museum is quite happy. I saw them demonstrate the piano to a group
of third graders before I left.

I would still like to get those buttons working. If anyone has a
similar piano (1911 vintage) that they could photograph that area under
the keybed (or a factory diagram of it), I could probably make the
missing parts. I have no idea why the rebuilder some 20 years ago did
not put the parts back on (maybe they were missing even then?). Have
a great weekend!
