Seek Felt for Impact Cushioning
By Matthew Caulfield

I was looking online for a retail source of felt, but became pretty
confused by the different types of felt that exists (wool, synthetic,
pressed, woven, etc.). What I want is a fairly thick (1/4 inch to
1/2 inch) piece and only about one or two square feet of material.

The application I would be using it in is impact cushioning. In the
old days I would have tossed the question to PPCo's Durrell Armstrong
or his sidekick, Jack Johnson. I did look in an old PPCo catalog
to see what felts they used to stock, but the catalog was short on
information about the applications for which the various felts were
intended.
