Unknown Tunes on Wurlitzer APP Roll 1845
By Gary Watkins

I have identified two of the unknown tunes on Jack Conway's APP rolls:

1845-4 is "Because of You (The World is Mine)", words by Walter Hirsch,
music by Ted Fiorito.

1845-5 is "Honey, I'm In Love With You", from the 1925 Broadway show
"Mercenary Mary", words and music by William Friedlander and Con Conrad.
(A recording of this tune is on YouTube.)

I don't claim to have a photographic memory for music. I found these
tunes using a method that is often successful when a portion of the
tunes on a roll are known. According to the Billings QRS Rollography,
the three known tunes on APP 1845 were issued in July and August of
1925. I looked at the other tunes issued by QRS during that period,
trying to isolate titles that fit the chorus of the sound clip.

I then played the candidate piano rolls and found these missing titles.
1845-4 is QRS 3182 and 1845-5 is QRS 3169, both issued in August, 1925.
