Roesler-Hunholz Pipe Organ Player Unit
By Craig Williams

I have an R-H player, although the swell and crescendo mechanisms are
two rollers rather than linear arrays. The Roesler-Hunholz player
was offered to organ builders wanting to add players to their products.
The Consolette model could play a three division organ from a highly
multiplexed 11-1/4" roll. This was expanded for the Jackling organ in
Woodside, California, to play four divisions. On the Woodside organ
the holes to move the crescendo up and down were used to control the
Great and Choir shades and the holes normally used for shades were used
for the Swell and Echo shades. An extra multiplex hole was added to
control the Echo stops.
