The Ampico On/Off system may be at fault, but it shouldn't be bypassed.
It's a long bar with a series of transmission gates controlled by a
pneumatic with a bar finger.  Bypass it by simply removing the input
and output tubes and connecting on the outside.

But, there is a series of filters in the bar for protecting the
expression mechanisms.  My suggestion is try to find out if they are
faulty: bypass and test, to see if the cutout is the problem.

Secondly, check the valve controlling the bypass, or the finger on the
switch.  Put the switch to "Ampico Off" and manually close the valve
with your finger and see how it performs.

I guess my point is, rather than to bypass the Ampico On/Off mechanism,
find the source of the problem and fix it, rather than remove an
important safety mechanism.
