First of all, sorry for my bad English!  I'm wondering how it
works, the Welte Mignon Vorsetzer expression system, described
as "the floating crescendo".

This system was constantly variable across the entire sound volume
perspective.  Control of loudness (expression unit) is a pair of
pneumatic power units, one operating slowly and the other operating
rapidly.  Is this sound volume control going from "pianissimo" (ppp)
to "fortissimo" (fff)?

Although this volume control varies continuously from pianissimo
to fortissimo, how many steps (bits) could be considered from the
minimum to maximum intensity?
