Destruction of Piano Rolls Due To Over-playing
By Steve Marx

Hi Gang, I'm a little concerned about the myth that over-playing
rolls destroys rolls! If a player system is rebuilt correctly there
is no reason for this. Rebuilding a player is a lot more than just
doing a set of pneumatics and valves and exhauster bellows. The spool
box has to be rebuilt, too.

Rebuilding a player takes a lot more skill now than it did 50 years
ago. If the spool box is rebuilt correctly you can play the same roll
a thousand times, and I stand firm on that!

Thanks, gang,
