Destruction of Piano Rolls Due To Over-playing
By Marc Goodman

Hi all, I totally agree with Mr. Marx regarding [the myth that]
overplaying rolls will destroy them. I have been playing my piano rolls
for 50 years and most of them are originals from 1910 to 1930.

Play your rolls with care. Make sure your centering device is working
and remove the lower spool brake, and you will almost _never_ tear a
roll.

50 years from now all of us will be gone, and probably the working
players, too. So play your rolls and have a good time.

Most sincerely,
Marc Goodman
