Matthew Caulfield asked for the meaning of "tosh".  Robbie suggested
it might mean rubbish.  It can indeed mean rubbish but I have always
understood tosh in this case to be short for mackintosh which used to
be a type of waterproof raincoat made of rubberized cotton.  However,
I might be wrong!
