Broderip & Wilkinson Residential Barrel Organ
By Jim Quashnock

I need a little help on my Broderip & Wilkinson residential barrel
organ (circa 1800). Sometime during the past two hundred years, the
drum and triangle had been rebuilt. It looks like all of the mechanism
for this was made in recent years based on the type of screws and
hinges used. The results are less than desirable. The drum and
triangle hardly play at all regardless of how I adjust them. I don't
know whether the replacement mechanism was someone's own design or was
copied after an original.

Does anyone out there, besides me, have a working B&W residential
barrel organ with drums and triangle? If so, and if it works, can you
please send me pictures of the mechanism? Or if I am wasting my time
on a mechanism that never did work, let me know, and I'll see if I can
design a better one. I've just spent weeks rebuilding the bellows and
chest, which are now air tight and work great. It would be nice to get
the whole thing going.
