Madame Butterfly Discovered at Morris Museum
By Maria Gatewood

"Mysterious Melodies of Madame Butterfly Discovered at the Morris
Museum", Friday, October 19, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.

Musicologists have long been puzzled as to the origins of Puccini's
Madame Butterfly. Earlier this year, it was discovered that an object
in the Morris Museum's Guinness Collection held the key to solving
this mystery. This exclusive event will include a multi-media
presentation conducted by Professor W. Anthony Sheppard, the
musicologist who made the discovery, and include a demonstration of
the music box and performances of the piece from Madame Butterfly by
soprano Zhanna Alkhazova and pianist Jody Schum of Opera New Jersey.
The evening will also include a tour of the Morris Museum's Guinness
Collection of Mechanical Musical Instruments and Living Dolls.

Tickets are $25 General admission, $20 for Museum members, Seniors and
Students. Tickets for this performance may be purchased by phone at
(973) 971-3706, or in person at the Bickford Theatre box office.
