New Book On Building a MIDI-driven Crank Organ
By Wiel Geraats

Walter Höffle is the author of a successful book on crank-organ
building, published in German under the title "Bau einer Drehorgel."
Many people have built a four-register organ using Walter's plans,
resulting in a fine musical instrument.

Following on this success, Walter has written another book for the more
experienced hobby crank organ builder: "How to Build a MIDI-driven 20-
note Crank Organ." The book has been translated into English by me.

This MIDI crank organ has five registers: stopped, stopped vibrato,
violin, wood piccolo, and quint pipes. Because some of the techniques
used are evolving, I decided to revise the pages relating to MIDI
technology. Additionally, two pages have been added about making MIDI
files.
