Seaside Heights Casino Pier Carousel Organ
By Julie Porter

On the BBC Worldwide web site I saw photos of Casino Pier
amusement park in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, where I think the
Wurlitzer Style 146 band organ restored by Mike Kitner and Bill
Black was located. Does anyone know if the carousel and organ
survived the hurricane?

I took a number of photographs of this organ when it was in
Bill's shop. I used these and measurements to make a 3-D model
for a future project to make a Wurlitzer 146 (I have most of the
pipes). It would be sad if this organ was damaged or destroyed
as the restoration was only a few years ago.

An overview of the restoration history is presented at
http://www.carousels.com/bblack/cpier_restoration.php
Bill wrote a detailed article about the restoration process
at http://www.carousels.com/bblack/
