Reginaphone Date of Manufacture
By Matthew Caulfield

Tom Stilinovich asks in 121107 MMD for the date of manufacture of his
Reginaphone serial no. 600102. That's an easy one. If Tom will send
a check for $5 made out to the MBSI (Musical Box Society International)
to Bob Yates, 901 Glenshaw Avenue, Glenshaw, PA 15116, Bob will send
him a copy of the original Regina Music Box Company certificate for his
Regina, showing when it was shipped and to whom.

Although Q. David Bowers' book, "Encyclopedia Of Automatic Musical
Instruments," has on page 177 charts showing the approximate dating for
Regina disc boxes having 5-digit serial numbers, most Reginaphones have
the seven-digit serial numbers that Regina began using in 1904.

I could not find any Reginaphones with six-digit numbers in Bowers'
descriptions of Reginaphones. So I guess Bob Yates' original Regina
factory records will be needed to answer Tom's question.
