The First Music Box Myth

Hi there, I suspected that a grammar school teacher isn't going to
assign a 5th grade student a paper about some obscure myth relating
to music boxes. So I did a quick search for the words "myth" and
"first music box". The first item that came up was written by a lady
whose name might be Ellie. She wrote in part:

"Myth has it that the first music box was designed for the amusement
and entertainment of Marie Antoinette. History, on the other hand,
reveals the availability of musical clocks constructed in the 16th
century for royalty and the wealthy. The musical tones were derived
by notching a revolving disc striking a single pin."

She also wrote about her visit to someone named Leslie:

"During my visit I channeled several deceased souls for Leslie."

The last part of the page looks like it was lifted from the MBSI some
place and it includes a picture that I think was copied from one of the
MBSI Directories.

I think the teacher was just trying to get the student to do a search
on the terms "myth" and "first music box."

Regards,
Craig Smith
