The Tel-Electric library includes maybe as many as 100 ragtime
titles, some of which I haven't found anywhere else.  I'm considering
transferring the ones in our collection to 88-note format.  The problem
is that the music rolls are of sheet brass, about five inches wide, and
can't be read by any optical roll scanner I know of.

The Tel-Electric console reads the roll by dropping a metal finger
into the roll punches, and the finger operates an electrical contact
that powers the note-playing solenoid.

I'm open to any ideas to transfer the roll punches to a MIDI file.
If there is some sort of interface that accepts dc signals and converts
them to MIDI inputs I'd sure like to know about it.  The Tel-Electric
system operates on 12 volts, but level conversion is no problem.
