Jacob Rabinowitz's offer of a Knabe Ampico "B" in the 130118 MMD found
an immediate taker.  Why am I not surprised?  A mid-thirties Knabe
Ampico "B" and rolls?   I'm surprised that they didn't come and get it
in a helicopter!

But seriously, I'm happy the piano was placed, and placed with a 
rebuilder that won't butcher it.  Last week I looked at a mid-thirties
Wheelock in a second hand store.  The player mechanism had been
removed, except for the sustain pneumatic.  It was a drawer player
mechanism, probably an Ampico "B" or "C", and the piano was in
beautiful condition, with a perfect ivory keyboard.  I tried to find
the player mechanism.  But it was lost, as the piano had been through
several owners.  Very sad.
