I have customer who owns an Ampico grand, not rebuilt, inquiring
about installing a modern player unit, e.g., Disklavier.  Considering
the cost of the electronic unit I wondered if rebuilding the
reproducer and adding a MIDI interface would be practical.

Does anyone make a reliable, proven MIDI interfacing system for
pneumatic instruments?  My limited searching of the Archives leads
me to think we are still in the realm of customized, one-of-a-kind
installations, although I keep reading about rare instruments fitted
with MIDI interfaces.
