I have recently acquired some 88-note rolls and I played one of them,
a Hupfeld roll no. 54703 entitled "Polenblut".  It is a pleasant
mazurka, composed and played by Oskar Nedbal.

I noticed that it had a set of five expression holes, three on the
left and two on the right.  Two sets of holes control the loud and soft
pedals.  On looking again at the roll label, someone has written in
black ink "Konzert-Phonoliszt" across the top.  This is repeated again
on the box label where the ink has faded.

I believe such an instrument was produced for a short time by Hupfeld,
a basic reproducing piano, and the rolls may not have been in the
88-note format to start with.  It is puzzling that the name has been
hand-written in ink.  I am wondering if any of these instruments have
survived as it would be nice to find the right home for the roll.
