"Polyart" Music Roll Paper Alternative
By Ian Alderman

[ I asked for, and received, Ian Alderman's permission to forward
[ this message to the MMD for publication. -- Matthew

Dear Matthew, We have always used "Polyart 3", for 25 years, with no
problems. It doesn't clog the tracker bar, but just keeps on going.

I always date and sign my rolls, and I use a pencil for this, simply
as a habit, having worked with many old keyboard instruments (pianos,
harpsichords, organs) and noticing that previous workmen signed in
pencil, which after 200 years is still visible, whereas ink fades.

For the music list, a printed label sticks to the roll (the printer
calls it "crack-back" paper). You can find my web site at
http://barrelorgan.org/ and with a bit of luck you will know someone
in America who has my rolls.

Yours sincerely,

Ian Alderman
