For some time now I have been debating substituting brass for the
rubber tubing in the Mason & Hamlin 1926 Ampico.  I have an array of
brass tubing from a low-end 5' piano that was beyond restoration.
The original tubing in the Mason & Hamlin was lead and is badly
deteriorated.  The replacement rubber tubing is a mess because the
hot glue gun goo used has let go and the tubing is a mess.

The advantage of brass is that it will last for ages, and lighten the
draw a bit.  But the Ampico is playing very well, with good repetition
at low volume.  I'm wondering if the brass array is as good as the
original lead tubing in this Mason & Hamlin.  The brass tubing seems to
be of the same diameter as the nipples in the M&H but there's no way to
measure the inside diameter.
