Removing Verdigris
By Thomas Binnall

I have developed a process for removing vertigris from Steinway actions.
I haven't had a re-call ever in 18 years and will process an action
shipped to me for $450. You pay shipping and insurance both ways in
a package that can be re-used. This is far cheaper than replacing the
whippens, hammer shanks and flanges. Actions returned free of any
vertigris or lubricants.

 [ At http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vert-de-gris :
 [ Le vert-de-gris (à l'origine « vert de Grèce ») est l'oxydation du
[ cuivre. Translation: The gray-green (originally "green of Greece")
[ is the oxidation of copper. So it seems vertigris or verdigris is
[ "Greek green"! See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdigris
