I'm checking to see if anyone has had experience as an apprentice or
taking on an apprentice.  I have had several people inquiring about
apprenticing in my shop.

What is the protocol for "employing" apprentices?  Do you let them
work along side you with no monetary compensation?  Do you pay them?
Or do they pay you, since you are divulging to them forty years of
knowledge and experience in the automatic musical instrument field?

Any guidance on this issue would be appreciated.
