92-Key Fair Organ Restoration in British Columbia
By Ingmar Krause

Hello MMD, as I indicated I'm trying to keep an update on the
restoration of the organ in British Columbia, Canada, now identified as
one of Oscar Grymonprez' 92-key Mortier/Bursens dance organs. Due to my
daytime job there was a longer pause in doing work on the instrument.
Meanwhile the facade has been pried away to give access to the innards
and the trailer received some much needed TLC.

First I got the organ to play as good as I had it, before now truly
taking it apart. ;-) All the hosing between keyframe and main relay
got gutted and then the entire keyframe was dismounted. After that
I took the keyframe completely apart, removing 30 years of grime and
dust and checking all the springs as I went along. Tomorrow I shall
put it all back together. Now here is the thing:

Given that this isn't planned as a museum style restoration, but that
the instrument is to be used on the road, we are replacing the old
hosing and fittings with new ones. If someone needs period accurate
paper/cardboard tubing (8 mm diameter) we have a pile saved!

We're not going to be able to give them away for free, but the first
reasonable offer takes it away or it will all go into the landfill...
Any interested party please contact me.

Musically,
