J. Lawrence Cook at the Keyboard
By Candy Hawblitz

Since I put my piano rolls on YouTube for others to enjoy, I do
get questions from time to time. One question I just received was
concerning J. Lawrence Cook. I do know he went by pseudonyms such
as Pep Doyle, etc.

I was asked if he ever performed a _live_ performance, and if that
performance was recorded. I was also asked if he performed live
on any records, other than recordings of his piano rolls. I have
heard the 78 record by Abbey Records of "The Old Piano Roll Blues,"
but it also had an orchestra and was sung by the "Jim Dandies".

Thanks so much for any information you may have on this subject.
