I'm so sorry to hear about Bob.  I visited him a couple of times at
his wonderful workshop, and discussed MIDI with him at length. He was
a tremendous help to me with my long-term research on Ballet mécanique,
and was a font of knowledge and enthusiasm.  He was a rare individual
who was equally at home with the technologies of the pianola era and
the MIDI era.  He was also great fun to work with.  My deepest
condolences to his family and friends.
