Standard Pneumatic Expression System
By Colin Mills

Hi Robbie, I've been looking at photos of a Cable and Sons player
piano here in Adelaide, South Australia, with a Standard system in it
which has five extra holes each end of the tracker bar, in the section
between the double alignment ears and the transposing slide gap.
Here's a link to the photo:

Did Standard make a full expression system? The owner knows very
little about it, save that it plays common 88-note rolls. Does
anyone know what rolls would play properly on this, and are they
commonly available? I have close to 1000 rolls, including some odd
ones but can't think of any which look much like this.

The owner has invited me to go and have a better look, but at $2000
I can't see myself being too tempted!

Many thanks,

Colin Mills

[ A nice piano! The tracker bar sure looks like it plays Recordo
 [ rolls. -- Robbie
