Player Piano Motor Case Temperature
By Dave Krall

I'd like to thank everyone who responded here and by email about the
motor case temperature question. From the responses I have received
I've come to the conclusion that these motors do tend to run towards
the hot side. Perhaps due to a gradual deterioration of the old
insulation they may be somewhat hotter than when new, but it seems
they are safe to operate this way.

My own preference, if money were no object, would be to have the coils
rewound. When I win the lottery, that's what I will do.

Thanks!
Dave Krall
