Speaking of "A Shine On Your Shoes," this number is on a swell Clark
orange and black label "Xylophone" A-Roll, "All American," from late
1932.  It originated in the 1932 Broadway musical "Flying Colors"
starring Charles Butterworth, Clifton, Webb and Patsy Kelly.  Here
played by Roger Wolfe Kahn, and including "Louisiana Hayride," also

This is a great, snappy roll, which also features two of Annette
Hanshaw's biggest hits.  It would not be long before Clark resorted to
their depression-era "black label" as a cost-cutting measure as well as
showing a noticeable drop-off in musical quality, as arrangers and
editors were let go.  But for a late Clark "orange and black," this
roll really sings!
