Is your laptop a PC or an Apple product?  I have switched over to an
iPad running "Sweet MIDI Player" application.  It has no piano roll
view, but the file title display is exceptionally easy to view and
selection is via touch screen -- very nice!

For file editing, I still use "Cakewalk Music Creator" on a PC laptop.
However, it has no playlist capability.  I guess you just can't have
it all!
