Moving a Player Piano
By Peter Vander Veld

It is preferable to use a moving service that specializes in pianos,
if possible. In the 1980s I engaged a Philadelphia piano mover to
deadhead to North Jersey to bring a Lauter-Humana player piano back
to my home in the Philly suburbs. They knew how to handle the heavy
instrument down the rickety old steps at the house in Jersey, though
they admitted to some misgivings when they arrived to make the pickup.
Once the piano was loaded they called me to give an ETA.

The service is not cheap but well worth it for the piece of mind. Ask
a local piano dealer who they use.
