Pump Motor Leather Drive Belt Replacement
By Timothy L'Amoureux

In the 131125 MMD Bob Hodge talks about splicing round leather belts.

I purchased a National Coin Piano that uses round leather belts. I
assume that they are not original, since they have a "hog-nose-ring"
splice. I was wondering the same thing as Bob, about getting a
properly spliced round leather belt replacement, since the belt "ticks"
with every rotation. (I'm not against metronomes, so all you metronome
enthusiasts out there, sorry, but ...)

Does anyone know what might be a source for these round leather belts,
and glue would be long lasting and what glue would be long lasting for
use in splicing them?

I seem to remember that White (Singer?) sewing machines had a similar
belt (smaller maybe?) that had a long silent splice. Maybe a sewing
machine interest group may have the answer. I am coming to realize
(appreciate) that there are so many diverse interest groups out there
in Internet Land.
