Round Belting for Faventia Barrel Piano Motor
By Tom Sendall

Concerning the recent discussion about belting, several years ago I
needed some for my Faventia street piano (with the optional electric
motor). I chose "Polycord" supplied by the now-defunct vendor Small
Parts, Inc., of Miami, Florida.

I measured 8 percent short as per the directions, then I heated the
ends and pressed them together. This formed a seamless coupling that I
was sure would soon fail but four years later it still works just fine.

The papers I saved says that Polycord was made up to 1/4" size, capable
of handling a 1/4-horsepower motor. I've just posted a video of my
piano on YouTube. Search for "monkey cranks Faventia street piano".

Thank you.
