Kings Island Wurlitzer 157 is Playing Again
By Mikey Mills

Ladies and Gentlemen, today, I have wept, not tears of sadness, but
tears of joy; my 7-year mission has finally been accomplished. My
letters, emails, and phone calls of encouragement have finally made
a difference in getting a band organ playing again.

What am I talking about? Kings Island's Wurlitzer 157 -- it's being
fixed, and not only that but it's now playing! Kings Island posted
a video to Twitter today captioned "Listen to What We're Working On
Today", and this, folks, is the Wurlitzer 157 band organ -- playing!

The percussion and facade are still on the carousel and do not look
very well, but who knows, the facade could be repaired also? As you
can tell from the video, the registers are also working, as you can
clearly hear the bells turn on!

This is one small step for amusement parks but one giant leap for
mechanical music! To show support, I believe that everyone in a
reasonable distance from the park should attend opening day to hear
the organ play it's first notes in seven years. I'll make sure
to keep everyone posted; I may even make some tee-shirts to give out;
I don't know -- all I know is I'm so happy right now, I can't stop
playing that 12-second video. Viva la mechanical music!

Best regards,
Mikey Mills
