I am very sorry to hear of Richard's passing.  During my time in the
Texas Chapter of AMICA, Richard and Janet Tonnesen were remarkably
generous to me with their time, energy, and knowledge, as well as with
their influence.  Janet had served on the AMICA Board of Directors,
if memory serves, and was instrumental in opening doors to me in the
mechanical music field that few others could have.  

Richard will always be in my memory the modest genius he always was --
a kind, unassumingly quiet man whose very nature belied his almost
incomprehensible brilliance.  With the passing of Richard Tonnesen our
community has lost a quiet and gentle giant, one that I, and I am sure
many others, will sorely miss.
