Transcribing Piano Rolls to Sheet Music
By Timothy L'Amoureux

[ Jeff Taylor wrote in 140222 MMDigest, "I need to transcribe
[ several piano rolls from MIDI files for research purposes."

I have been using "MidiNotate" and "Notation Composer" but, not being
a music notation reader, if there is gobbled-de-gook, I couldn't tell.

I sent a converted piece to my niece, who is an accomplished pianist
and harpsichordist, and she mentioned that everything looked technically
correct but also looked "not quite right." I guess that's a problem
with automatic translation of any kind.

Both pieces of software are quite inexpensive and you can take a look
and try for free.
