In the MMD of February 4, 2014, Ken Long wrote of a piano moving
horror story.  Here is my story.

I bought a cabinet style coin piano over E-bay before Christmas.
It was over 2000 miles from home.  I arranged for shipping with
a large national moving company that advertises themselves as
a worldwide leader.  The piano was to be blanket wrapped, shrink
wrapped, and transported.

I realize that a mover is not an overnight courier, so I waited
patiently, then started calling to check up on it.  After much
runaround,  and several un-returned phone calls, etc., I finally
received the piano on March 24.  There was no wrapping on it, and
it was damaged on every side.

I contacted the seller who confirmed that it was undamaged and was
very well wrapped in heavy blue furniture pads when it left his home.
I will file a damage claim, but that won't change anything that is
already done.

One additional lesson learned is to have such an instrument crated,
not just wrapped.  Of course the blankets should never have been
removed -- if they were left on this damage would not have happened.
