In learning about the history of PTC carousel #50 at Buckroe Beach,
I found out that the Smithsonian came and made recordings of the
band organ in 1978.  They said at the time that they were going around
the country making recordings of the band organs at various carousels.
I remember it being said that they had just made recordings of the
carousel at Glen Echo Park before coming down to Buckroe.  Does anybody
know anything more about this project that took place?
